Chicago VIPs Predict the Series

It’s World Series time!
And it all starts on Wednesday, October 28.

Even though the Cubs and White Sox are not in the World Series, Chicago baseball fans will always have a prediction.

The Chicago Baseball Museum asked several Chicago baseball fans—media members, celebrities, former players and VIPs — their World Series prediction. See who they picked.
 

Peter Alter, Curator of the Chicago History Museum: I'll go with the Yankees in six.

Mike Adamle, sports personality, WMAQ-TV (NBC5 Chicago): Yankees in 6 games

Art Berke, former Chicagoan and Yogi Berra Museum: I'll pick the Yankees in 6. MVP. I'll go with Mariano Rivera.

Brian Bernadoni, CBM Board Member, Wrigley Field tour guide: Phillies in 7

Ken Berry, former White Sox outfielder: Yankees in 6

Bill Black, Illinois State Representive: Phillies in 6. "I used to be a New York fan but have changed my mind." I still think the Cubs will do it in 2010. However I said that about 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006..."

Daniel Bluthardt, Illinois Director of Professional Regulation: Phillies take it after 6

Steve Dahl, Chicago radio personality: Yankees in 7 and A-Rod

Mike Ditka, ESPN Pro Football Analyst, NFL Hall of Famer, former Head Coach Chicago Bears (Super Bowl XX Champs): It is going to be a really good Series, but I will pick the Yankees in 6.

Tom Dreesen, comedian: I like Girardi and he is Italian, but I pick the Phillies in 7.

Pete Ward, former White Sox infielder/outfielder: Yankees in 7 games

Linda Williamson, former State Representative & Chicago Baseball Museum Board Member: New York in 5 would be my guess.

George Will, nationally syndicated columnist and author: Phillies in six games, Werth as MVP.

Dave Wills, former White Sox pre and post game radio host; now broadcasts for the Tampa Bay Rays: Phillies in 6 games. MVP choice is Jimmy Rollins.

Minnie Minoso, former White Sox left fielder: predicted that the Yankees would win.

Representative Pattie Bellock: said the team reminded her of Casey Stengl and the old Yankees. They would take it in 6.

John Cusak, film actor and screenwriter, played George "Buck" Weaver in Eight Men Out: picked the underdogs: the Phillies.

Jerry Hester, color analyst for Illini basketball team and former Illini star: picked the Philadelphia Phillies in 6 games with Chase Utley as the MVP.
